CHIVA NI VIRAC

RATIONALE

Virac is one of the most Ibaloi populated barangay in the municipality of Itogon. The place is blest with rich mineral deposits which the early people did not greed but rather shared it to many people coming from different walks of life. Due to this, the Ibaloi particularly are no longer accustomed to their identity for the reason that they were much influenced by other tribes.

This organization is conceptualized to help younger generations of dying breed of Virac Ibaloi to learn (ashalĕn), to commend (ishayaw), and to uplift (isalekkad) the Culture, Heritage and Indigenous Values (CHIVA) taught by our forefathers.
